PPWR, EPR and the CRRM pre-launch

Clear answers, without pretending that future functionality is already legally validated or available.

What is PPWR?

PPWR is the usual abbreviation for the European Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation: Regulation (EU) 2025/40. The regulation contains rules for packaging and packaging waste throughout its life cycle.

What is EPR?

EPR stands for Extended Producer Responsibility. Which registration, reporting or payment obligations apply depends, among other things, on your role, countries and packaging flows.

From when does PPWR apply?

Regulation (EU) 2025/40 entered into force on February 11, 2025 and has a general application date of August 12, 2026. Other dates and transitional rules may apply to specific provisions.

Does every webshop have to keep packaging data?

There is no responsible yes-or-no answer to that without assessing your situation. Your role in the chain, sales countries, types of packaging and national implementation can make a difference. A usable administration does help to substantiate that assessment and reporting.

Does this also apply if I don't send much abroad?

Small volumes do not automatically exclude obligations. Thresholds and conditions may differ per scheme and country. Therefore, check official sources or seek expert advice for your situation.

What is the status of the link?

The existing CRRM Webshop continues to work as it does now. Packaging compliance is later checked and linked to the same product and order data.

Can CRRM make my official EPR declaration?

No, CRRM is not making that claim now. The pre-launch is about collecting administrative data and making it traceable. Official declarations and validated legal outcomes have not yet been activated.

When will the add-on be available?

There is no definitive release date yet. Reserved users will be notified when the basic scope is available for activation.

Am I already paying €2.50?

No. Registration and reservation are free of charge. No payment is initiated and no subscription is activated.

What happens to my early adopter price?

CRRM sets €2.50 per month with price version EARLY_ADOPTER_2026 for the basic scope. The price will only apply after the add-on is available and you activate it yourself. Additional volume, premium features or services may be priced separately later.

Can I only use CRRM for this?

You can create a CRRM account for free and later decide which functions you use. The normal Free functionality remains available; booking does not limit your account.
